Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim asked us to create a game that fit with their distinct brand. The result of this amazing opportunity was 2am Truckstop. In this hypnotic and twitchy arcade shooter, you are a sleep deprived trucker hauling a no-questions-asked load from somewhere to somewhere. Flying down lost highways in the neon-soaked dead of night, you blast your way through overwhelming phalanxes of demons and barrel through crooked police barricades, all while keeping your eyes on the road as the night closes in.

Shoot ’em Up

Our goal with 2am was to create an atmospheric tension that built as you played. The enemies build and speed up as the player’s challenges escalate and the roads becomes more treacherous.

Synthwave Roads

To enhance the moody surreal visuals we created an original synth score with a pulsing edge of night style. The soundtrack and sound design played a key part in establishing the unique texture of the game.

Keep Trucking

Randomized and procedurally generated levels throw a fever dream of surprises at players including new groups of enemies as well as power ups that add new trailers to their trucks and new specialized weapon types.

Spreading the Word

2am Truck Stop was covered widely on web game sites and advertised in Adult Swim’s classic programming block, building a loyal following of players competing for high scores.
